Nothing apart from Chiranjeevi's performance. Can’t deliver justice to the original (Lucifer). Chiru sir matched the Charishma of Mohanlal but the modified script made it a little boring. Salman khan has a cameo but it’s too routine. One time watchable that too just for Chiranjeevi. Else you can skip it

GodFather movie review: Chiranjeevi's unmatched charisma gives this fun political thriller many whistle-worthy moments

Godfather movie review: chiranjeevi-starrer remake of lucifer is clichéd, mindless, and yet immensely enjoyable, largely due to the star’s screen presence and salman khan’s explosive cameo..

GodFather, the Telugu remake of Mohanlal’s mega hit Lucifer, is a heady concoction of clichés, crowd-pleasing moments, larger-than-life fights, and some complex plot twists. And yet, it never gets too much and remains enjoyable for most parts. You even learn to look past the silliness of it all. And it’s all because of the charisma and towering screen presence of Chiranjeevi . The boss is truly back and he has chosen the perfect vehicle, a massy masala entertainer that gets the audience cheering and whistling. Also read: GodFather Twitter reviews: Fans react to Chiranjeevi’s remake of Lucifer

GodFather movie review: Chiranjeevi elevates this film from average to enjoyable.

GodFather is part political thriller, part mindless action film. It follows the death of a revered chief minister PKR and the infighting to choose his successor. The contenders are the amibitious home minister Narayan Varma (a delightful but slightly over Murali Sharma) and PKR’s son-in-law Jaidev (Satyadev Kancharana). But there is also the mysterious kingmaker Brahma (Chiranjeevi), who holds the reins of power in the state. What follows is a game of political cat and mouse with each politician trying to outfox the other.

GodFather follows in the footsteps of massy hits like Pushpa: The Rise and KGF: Chapter 2 from earlier this year. In some parts, it lacks the heart and finesse of a Pushpa and the grandeur of KGF. Yet, it balances the two quite well. The script falters, partly because there is a lack of one for large portions of the film. In trying to be clever, it wanders into the unintentionally funny territory at times. It is not a cerebral political thriller in the genre of a Rajneeti or Leader. It is an action film disguised as one, but disguised quite well.

The film is high on drama, lacks subtlety, and uses every cliché out there. When the hero enters, everything is in slo-mo, leaves fly, people faint. When he goes to prison, he is automatically qaidi number 786. The film screams 90s. But then that’s Chiranjeevi’s strength. He became India’s number one star in the early 90s doing many similar films. And he turns back the clock here splendidly.

GodFather works only when Chiranjeevi is on screen. Although the director’s choice to give him a grand entry ‘every’ time he walks into the frame gets old pretty fast, the veteran actor more than holds his own. He carries the film on his back, lending his stardom and screen presence to otherwise loose scenes and salvaging them. He works best when he is not kicking butt though. It is the scenes in which he very understatedly showcases his power and influence are what shine through. There are a lot of whistle-worthy moments in the film owing to Chiranjeevi’s inherent swag.

In the supporting cast, Murali Sharma and Satyadev Kancharana as the two ambitious politicians stand out. Satyadev, in particular, as the Machiavellian Jai, is a treat to watch. Murali Sharma shows just what he is capable of. It’s a pity Bollywood hasn’t truly utilized him yet. The biggest flaw of the film is to relegate Nayanthara to the background. Having an actor of her caliber and a star of her stature is a bonus to any film and yet GodFather chooses to let the men take centre stage. That she still manages to leave her mark despite a limited screen time only makes this decision even more puzzling.

And then there is Salman Khan . He has a cameo in the film that drew the loudest cheers and whistles in the theatre that I was at. In what can only be described as the most Salman role ever, he appears in an explosive role that not only adds to the film’s overall swag quotient but shows a more brutal, ruthless side of the actor that Bollywood hasn’t explored of late. The scenes with both Chiranjeevi and Salman together really light up the screen.

GodFather has its flaws, and they are countless, to be honest. But the packaging is so slick that you prefer to overlook most of them. Because I went to watch the film with lowered expectations and I did not bother comparing it to Lucifer, I was able to actually enjoy the film. If you are prepared to do the same, and watch Chiranjeevi in his element, you may too.

Director: Mohan Raja

Cast: Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, Satyadev Kancharana, Murali Sharma, Puri Jaggannadh, and Salman Khan.

Godfather Review: A Thrilling Film Undone by its Need to Pander

Godfather Review: A Thrilling Film Undone by its Need to Pander

There is something unwieldy about the 2019 Malayalam Lucifer, the highest grossing Malayalam film starring Mohanlal. At almost three hours, the political thriller moved sluggishly in many directions, with some characters making an entry as late as the second-half of the film. Mohanlal himself was only introduced half-hour into the sputtering, chaotic, word-heavy proceedings. His first knockout mass scene, intended to satiate his frenzied fandom, comes after an hour.

Despite this leisurely flab, Lucifer provided a template for an ageing superstar. One that did not involve romancing women half their age, or requiring them to dance and fight as though their limbs ceased wrinkling. It completely desexualizes the protagonist to the point where it refuses to even consider Mohanlal’s character ever having had a love life or trails of lust left in the past. Which is why it makes perfect sense for Chiranjeevi — or Megastar Chiranjeevi — to take the Malayalam mantle further North, towards Telugu-nadu.

The broad strokes of the story are the same. A formidable politician PKR has passed away. His daughter (Nayanthara), his son-in-law (Satyadev Kancharana), his Home minister (Murali Sharma), and his right-hand man (Chiranjeevi) are introduced in one fell swoop of exposition. In the Malayalam version, an investigative journalist with books of Edward Snowden and Julian Assange on his bookshelf does a Facebook live, explaining the context to us — and to his Facebook audience. Here, the journalist, with a statue of Buddha, goes live on YouTube, and just as the budget of Godfather is perhaps three to four times that of Lucifer, the views on his YouTube and the dark wealth he is trying to unearth too have more zeroes and more eyeballs. Everything here is bigger, including the crowds and the sweep — cinematographer Nirav Shah’s king-sized framing of this king-sized world.

But the sobering impulse of Lucifer is still here. That to be a politician is different from being a political leader. It is a cynical distinction, because according to this, no hero could be a politician, because the very notion of being a politician is to be beholden to someone, to something; and a hero is beholden to none but their muscle and mind. Chiranjeevi, after a failed decade in politics, coming back to cinema, and recasting his failure as a politician as a vindication of his heroism is a turn no one would have expected. That he was never meant to be a politician, because he is a king-maker, a leader, which, according to this film, is an entirely different kind of stretch. As he says, in a moment that builds on biography with filmography, politics may be far away from him, but he isn’t far away from politics. That he would always choose praja over party.

Chiranjeevi’s filmography from his debut 44 years ago, in 1978, traverses Telugu cinema’s journey into the 21st century. As S.V. Srinivas writes in his book Megastar Chiranjeevi and Telugu Cinema after N T Rama Rao, “The study of the ‘Chiranjeevi phenomenon’, in its screen manifestation, is a study of the mass film.” In the early Nineties, when Chiranjeevi was heating up in popularity, he was the highest paid actor, more than Amitabh Bachchan or Rajinikanth (he got a whopping Rs. 1.25 crore for a film). In this context, Srinivas calls Telugu cinema “foundationally populist” because it existed for and was made according to the demands of the spectator, that the genre conventions — the whistle moments — came about because we wanted them to come about.

Keeping this in mind, Godfather is an odd film. Chiranjeevi — known for his acrobatic frollicking and the odd, sweet, compelling ways his limbs swing — does not dance, barring the fingering he and Salman Khan do to Prabhu Deva’s choreography in the end credits. Even the action sequences have a lethargy. They are edited more than they are performed. So you see a shot of Chiranjeevi pulping his various enemies; then, his enemies flying off in various states of undress and duress. We don’t ever get to see this as one continuous action because it never is one continuous action. The beating and the being beaten are separated by the cinematic cut.

I find the dance star and the action star a fascinating figure, because it is one where we can actually see how their existence has made possible the idea that the body could move a certain way. When we see Chiranjeevi, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Tiger Shroff dance, we see not just an agile body, but a body of possibility, that the human limbs are capable of doing that, and our inability is on us. It is not just awe for something that captures our imagination. It is awe that is dependent deeply on our incapacities, our lethargies.

Godfather, however, has a different trick up its sleeve. In one of its most exciting moments, Chiranjeevi is seated, smiling like Mona Lisa — that disturbing nonchalance, that shameless, unchallenged power — in a jail cell. When his son-in-law, the villain of this movie, the man who put him in jail comes to his cell to gloat, you don’t see Chiranjeevi agitated. When, after speaking like a victor, the son-in-law then tries to make an exit, he realizes the cell is locked from the outside and the guard on duty is not listening to him. The scene now revs. The guard looks at Chiranjeevi instead, for his permission to unbuckle the door. Chiranjeevi swipes his eyes. The guard listens, opening the bolt. That even jailed, he is the one with the power. Perhaps, the mass of mass cinema is located not in actions but in gestures.

Writer and director Mohan Raja melts some of the flab of the source material. For example, he takes two characters from Lucifer — the sibling, the daughter — and makes them one, while using that additional space to create a more sensational world, full of the balletic excess of mass cinema. He also tries to forcefully press humour against the story, which is perhaps a mass cinema thing. My criticism of this film, then, becomes my criticism of the genre itself. Which is to say, Godfather is a thrilling film, whose thrills are undone by its desperate need to pander.

There is also this odd relationship these films have to the North, to Mumbai specifically. Mumbai is this place that is beyond description — this mythical hotspot, this mayanagari full of cloistered, miasmic slums and airy sea links. It is morally depraved. Drugs. Dancing girls. Communalism. It looms large over their imagination, and their economy. Even when the hero needs an outer, greater power to come help him the day — Prithviraj in Lucifer and Salman Khan in Godfather — he comes from Mumbai. Of course Lucifer is more stinging when it comes to its criticism of saffron politics and the pumping corporate currency bedrock on which its success stands. Godfather is too politically meek to make that kind of an assertion.

What does not work in Godfather is Salman Khan’s cameo. One of the most visually striking stretches of Lucifer was Prithviraj bursting trucks of drugs into ash and cinder against the carbon black night. Here, instead, we get Salman Khan fan service, including him riding a bike against a green screen of a night-road lit by the headlamp of his bike. The problem with the kind of stardom Khan has acquired is that you can never see the character, so apparent and insistent is the Salman Khan-ness of Salman Khan. It is the kind of cameo where you remember the kind things he said about Chiranjeevi, about doing this cameo for free, and smile at the camaraderie that brought them together — instead of actually smiling at seeing them together. Because so much of these scenes are not about the scenes per se but what led to it. Towards the end, they hold a machine gun like a baby, swaddling it, and the machine vomits bullets. Some people die. The slow accretion, the loud avalanche of mass scenes comes to an end. The two dance. Roll, end credits.

Godfather Review: Chiranjeevi's Remake Is Quite Different From Lucifer

The Megastar and Salman Khan combination had created enough anticipation for Chiranjeevi's Godfather , a remake of the popular Malayalam film Lucifer , which was directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and starred Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas, and others.

Godfather

Godfather released today, on October 5. The film is bolder in terms of the action, and the making itself. Visually the film maker has gone with a brighter color palette, compared to the dark tone of Lucifer .

In addition to others, the movie features Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, Satyadev Kancharana, Puri Jagannadh, and Salman Khan. The screenplay was written by director, Mohan Raja. The dialogues were written by Lakshmi Bhupal. The film's music is composed by Thaman, the editor is Marthand Venkatesh, and Nirav Shah is the cinematographer.

Story And Performances

Satya is a stoic, honourable woman who believes in the values that her father, PKR, a respected politician, left with her. However, values mean nothing to her husband, who lures her into believing that he is a noble partner. He roots himself into his father-in-law's political party and covets the Chief Minister seat that remains with PKR. He kills him off and clears the air around him, to get ready to take the CM seat for himself.

There is a catch though, as Brahma, PKR's son, and Satya's half-brother, cares immensely for his sister, although she only has hatred and vengeance for him. A flashback explains that her mom's death is a result of an argument between her mom and dad, about Brahma. Although an accident, she remembers that her mom did not want Brahma in her house, and she inherits the spite in her.

Jaya Dev, Satya's husband, with the help of a senior party member, Varma, tries to put Brahma out of the picture. However, Brahma enjoys a lot of respect and reverence from many party members. He is revealed to have supported PKR a lot during his rule and has influence that Jaya Dev didn't know about.

Jaya Dev also betrays Satya in multiple she never could have imagined. The story focuses on how Brahma safeguards his sister despite her not trusting him, and not suspecting Jaya Dev.

Chiranjeevi, as always, looks convincing as a leader figure, with his mature and kind appearance, that manages to intimidate the bad guys when needed. Nayanthara plays Satya and has done a great job portraying an honest yet naive woman, who has nothing but sincerity in her heart. Satyadev Kancharana, plays a vile and materialistic individual who lacks the capacity to love anyone but himself.

Masoom Bhai, played by Salman Khan makes surprise entrances and brings cheers to the theatre. Puri Jagannadh also made cameo appearances in the film and got applause during his scenes.

What Worked And What Didn't

Chiranjeevi's screen presence and Nayanthara's elegance are the major positives of the film. The two actors carry a swag that is unmatchable. The film doesn't try to go with any unnecessary additions to the story that would have distracted the narrative.

Although there are no major drawbacks to the film, it doesn't have much to offer. The action sequences look regular, the story is predictable, and the characters seem quite familiar as well.

The film skillfully avoids moments that might annoy people and sticks to its narrative. It would not hurt to watch the film, for Chiranjeevi or Nayanthara, if it manages to pull you to the theatres. However, you wouldn't miss much if you skipped it.

GodFather Movie Review: Chiranjeevi turns 'boss of bosses' in Lucifer remake with Salman for company

Godfather, starring chiranjeevi and salman khan, is an action-packed remake of mohanlal's lucifer. the telugu movie proves to be a treat for megastar's fans, says our review..

Listen to Story

Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan in GodFather.

  • GodFather features Chiranjeevi in the titular role.
  • The film is directed by Mohan Raja,
  • GodFather opened in theatres on October 5.

Mohanlal's Lucifer wasn't exactly a masterpiece or an example of brilliant storytelling. The narrative felt a bit cliched despite several rousing moments. Also, most of the twists were quite predictable. The film, however, proved to be a treat for Lalettan's fans as it gave the Complete Actor ample scope to showcase his abilities. The same pretty much applies to GodFather, its Telugu remake. The Chiranjeevi-led political thriller, however, is massier and more action-packed than the Malayalam version.

GodFather revolves around Brahma (Chiranjeevi), a mass leader with a mysterious past, who influences his state's political discourse despite being in 'exile'. He returns to politics following his mentor and the sitting Chief Minister PKR's death. He soon realises that the state is in political turmoil as many individuals with nefarious intentions are eager to occupy the CM's chair. As the film progresses, we learn more about his equation with Sathyapriya (Nayanthara). This sets the stage for a deadly showdown between him and his foes.

The basic storyline has pretty much everything - right from action scenes to punch dialogues - that one expects from a film headlined by a mass hero. The plot reaches its potential due to the solid packaging. Each scene manages to build an aura around Chiranjeevi's character.

GodFather opens with a series of slow yet intense scenes which establish the film's world. These sequences work as they have a sense of urgency, which makes it easier for the viewers to relate to the reel action. They do a pretty good job of setting the stage for Chiranjeevi’s massy entry. The actor’s introduction scene is subdued compared to the ones we saw in SS Rajamouli’s RRR and the Nandamuri Balakrishna-led Legend. It, however, packs a punch mainly because of Chiranjeevi’s stellar screen presence. The action scenes again do justice to the veteran actor’s ‘Boss of the Bosses’ image and come across as extremely stylish without being over-the-top.

There are a couple of twists here and there. They, however, don’t work any better than they did in Lucifer. That said, they might appeal to those who aren’t familiar with the original.

It is, however, the track involving Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara that helps GodFather soar above Lucifer. Their emotional scenes feel more organic and natural than the ones featuring Mohanlal and Manju Warrier in the original version. Short and effective punch dialogues are widely regarded as the hallmark of a Mohan Raja movie. Thani Orvan, for example, featured memorable one-liners like ‘‘I love Deals’ and ‘kill at first betrayal’, which had tremendous situation appeal. GodFather is no exception. It boasts punchlines such as ‘yeh family matter hai’ and ‘ I can’t be away from politics’, which amps up its recall value.

Coming to performances, Chiranjeevi is the heart and soul of GodFather. The veteran acts with his eyes, adding depth to each scene he appears. His intensity is personified in his scenes with his foes. The star is equally impressive in the softer sequences, which are an integral part of the narrative. His expressions in a scene where he sees his mentor’s dead body are worth their weight in gold. Nayanthara is top-notch in a role that requires her to be aggressive yet vulnerable in equal measure. Her introduction scene does justice to her standing in the industry.

Satyadev is sincere but doesn’t quite measure up to Vivek Oberoi, who played a similar character in Lucifer. That said, this is a step in the right direction for him and may pave the way for bigger films in the near future.

Murali Sharma breathes life into a character that could have been reduced to a caricaturish sidekick. His effortless performance, however, helps him stand out. Puri Jagannadh springs a surprise with his work in GodFather. While he isn’t able to hold his own against Chiranjeevi, it is refreshing to see the Liger director try something different.

It is, however, Salman Khan who proves to be GodFather’s biggest surprise package. The film does justice to his action hero image. Bhai sets the screen on fire (quite literally) in his scenes. The Tiger 3 star’s ‘main kanoon ki bhi nahi sunta’ line is a treat for those who liked his work in Wanted, a remake of Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri.

Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh is up to mark even though a scene involving a ‘movie screening’ feels a bit unnecessary as it breaks the film’s flow. The rousing background score by S Thaman adds a larger-than-life feel to the hero elevation scenes. The songs, however, are a total letdown. Not one of them does justice to the standards that Thaman set for himself with his work in Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The other technical aspects have been handled with competence.

To conclude, GodFather is a grand celebration of the brand Chiranjeevi that proves to be a treat for the veteran hero’s ardent fans.

GODFATHER MOVIE REVIEW

Godfather (aka) Godfather (Telugu) review

Godfather is an official Telugu remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam film Lucifer. It is directed by Mohan Raja and produced by NV Konidela and RB Choudary under the banners Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films respectively. The film has Mega Star Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara in the lead roles while Satya Dev, Murali Sharma, Tanya Ravichandran and others play crucial supporting roles. Salman Khan has also played a cameo appearance as Masoom Bhai.

The Chief Minister of Andhra, PKR dies mysteriously, and the race for the throne is wide open. PKR's daughter Sathyapriya (Nayanthara), her husband Jaidev (Satya Dev), and Mr. Verma (Murali Sharma) are the names in the hat and Brahma's name gets added at the end. Brahma(Chiranjeevi) is considered as a force to reckon with and the strength behind PKR when he was the CM.

The power play between all these contenders, what role Brahma has in weeding out all corrupt ministers, and how he avenges PKR's death is what Godfather is all about. Directed by Mohan Raja, who is known for handling remakes really really well, he almost gets the essence of the original right, and adds a few elements to fit the sensibilities of the Telugu audiences.

Godfather is all about Chiranjeevi and it is the right kind of script which fits the stardom he carries, and Mohan Raja goes full throttle. One of the scenes which stands out is the conversation between Satya Dev and Chiranjeevi inside a prison where Chiranjeevi doesn't utter a word but the scene reeks of mass appeal. It is also a scene which shows us what a brilliant actor Chiranjeevi is. Cinematographer Nirav Shah rightly chooses to zoom in on Chiranjeevi's eyes and give us goosebumps.

Among the other actors, Satya Dev looks less powerful as the antagonist as a person with a huge screen presence like Chiranjeevi needed a much stronger villain. Barring him, Nayanthara, Murali Sharma, Tanya Ravichandran and Brahmaji end up as memorable characters in our minds and ace their roles. Salman Khan's cameo role increases the "massness" of the film, and he breeds swagger in every frame.

Technically, Nirav Shah's camerawork is stellar and he captures the film in a grand way. But the VFX especially in climax fights could have been better. The stunt choreography is a mixed bag. The jail fight sequences are executed well.

Among all these, one person whose work stands out is Music director Thaman. His purple patch of scoring mass BGMs for top heroes continues and he's given his heart and soul to this film. The screenplay by Mohan Raja is neat and simplified and is understandable for everyone. He also makes a few tweaks to the original by combining 2 characters and making it a single character. Those are the places where the Godfather differentiates from Lucifer.

Overall, Godfather is a mass film with a great screenplay and music. Chiranjeevi solely powers the film right from the frame he makes an entry. There are a few rough edges here and there but all those are forgotten as Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan and Prabhu Deva shake a leg together while the film comes to a close.

Godfather movie review: Chiranjeevi-starrer is all about victory of good over evil

Hyderabad: Let us move away from Lucifer . We need to see Telugu cinema as a completely different module in compare to Malayalam cinema. The twain may meet in content, not in style. That is a huge difference to the connoisseur and in the comfort zone of the money bags.

On the death of the Chief Minister, there are multiple claimants to the coveted office. Heading the pack is Jay (Satyadev Kancharna) who is married to the daughter of the late Chief Minister, Priya (Nayantara). There is also the typical ambitious politician Narayan Varma (Murali Sharma). However, the dramatic element is the entry of Brahma (Chiranjeevi) who is the child of the deceased Chief Minister bought out of wedlock.

  • Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan starrer God Father’s first single promo released
  • Chiranjeevi’s ‘GodFather’ Telugu theatrical trailer thrills fans
  • Chiranjeevi’s ‘Godfather’ earns Rs 38 crore in worldwide collection on day one

In place or commemorative of the festival of Dasara , the film is about the victory of success over evil. It has all the ingredients that the audience would want to expect and lap up with glee. A gluttonous appetite for the grotesque stands satiated.

The script (Mohan Raja) moves from an international space of drug and diamond smuggling to the microcosm of the political vacuum created on the death of the ailing Chief Minister who incidentally dies in the hospital of a political rival. While we have Shiyaji Shinde as a caricature of the leader from the opposition the entire political drama is about the palace intrigue.

The seeming heir is the schematic Narayan Varma who initially involves Jai who surely has his eyes glued on the seat. It is not long before the later wins the game of political chair grabbing. It is battle lines drawn and seemingly intelligent games of one up man ship.

The mayhem and destruction that follows is full of melodrama and scripted around the style and strength of the main star in the movie. How well he carries it out is the crux of the film and surely its degree of acceptance. His fans would swallow it all. The challenge is with those who have moved on or are willing to distinguish the star from the role and the performance.

Credit must go to director Mohan Raja for not being over awed by the star. There is a very subdued performance from Chiranjeevi . For his fans who would love to see him shake his foot, they are made to wait for the item song as the epilogue. Through the film, notwithstanding the larger-than-life character that the script gives him, he is not melodramatic and ensures that he is within and not larger than the script.

In an attempt to look stern, Nayantara ends up with a monotonous performance. Her attires are well thought of and add character to her persona. Satyadev Kancharna as the main villain is away from evil mannerisms and plays the scheming son-in-law with an eye on his sister-in-law (Tanya Ravichandran) with maturity.

The clash between the claimants for the throne is not overdone and make for interesting watching. This is an interesting coming of age film for Chiranjeevi. Hopefully from here there will be more of him to see.

Movie: Godfather Rating: 2.75/5 Banner: Mega Supergood Films, Konidela Productions Cast:  Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan, Nayanthara, Puri Jagannadh, Satya Dev, Murali Sharma, Samuthirakani, Sunil and others Music: Thaman S Director of Photography: Nirva Shah Editor: Marthand K Venkatesh Action: Ram-Laxman, Anl Arsu Producer: RB Choudary and NV Prasad Directed by: Mohan Raja Release Date: October 5, 2022

Any Chiranjeevi starrer evokes curiosity. “Godfather” has created more interest as Bollywood superstar Salman Khan played a guest role. The film marks Salman Khan’s Telugu debut.

Let’s find out whether the film lives up to the expectations.

Story: When Chief Minister PKR passed away, his daughter Satya Priya (Nayanthara) and his son-in-law Jaidev (Satya Dev) decided to take the reins of the party and the government. Not aware of her husband's true nature, Satya Priya proposes Jaidev's name as the new president, which is rejected by MLAs and party men as they follow Brahma (Chiranjeevi), the stepson of the deceased CM.

Satya Priya hates Brahma and wants to keep him away from the party. Jaidev wants to buy all the MLAs with the money from a Mumbai don. The Mumbai mafia don, in return, seeks the permission to set up a drugs production company in the state when Jaidev becomes CM of the state.

How Brahma plays his game and saves his sister Satya Priya and the state from the schemes of Jaidev forms the rest of the story.

Artistes’ Performances: Megastar Chiranjeevi has played a role that suits his age and image. The appearance is also closer to his real life. Chiranjeevi is quite effective when he speaks less and does the acting with his body language. This is the first time that the megastar played a role without a female interest in the film.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in his Tollywood debut gets a raw deal. His entry into the film and his subsequent scenes look superficial.

Satyadev steps in the role played by Vivek Oberoi. Satyadev has put in his best efforts, but his role lacks evilness as Vivek showed in the original. He doesn’t pose as a strong villain to the mighty Chiranjeevi.

Nayanthara is dignified in her role. Sunil is okay. Murali Sharma shines. Puri Jagannadh as a journalist is impressive.

Technical Excellence: Nirav Shah’s cinematography is striking. Many shots in the film show his master touch. The sequences filmed on Necklace Road’s tricolor flag area are beautiful. Thaman’s music is a letdown. Lakshmi Bhupal’s dialogues are pale and normal.

Highlights: Chiranjeevi’s act and style The first half

Drawback: Weak villain The climax portions Changes to the original story

Analysis “Godfather” is the official remake of the Malayalam blockbuster “Lucifer” featuring Mohanlal. The Malayalam version is a commercial film and a blockbuster. The film was narrated in a gripping manner. It was one of the best political thrillers.

The basic storyline of “Godfather” is the same as that of “Lucifer”, but director Mohan Raja has made many changes that have diluted the impact.

Until the interval bang, the film is as gripping as the original. While certain changes worked for the image of Chiranjeevi, the other crucial changes, especially the removal of the brother’s character, have changed the course of the drama.

The protagonist is the son of the deceased chief minister and that is never explicitly told in the original movie. It is only implied with the ‘silence’ of the main character. This angle has given room for suspense in the story. In “Godfather”, at the very beginning, it is revealed that Chiranjeevi is the son of the deceased Chief Minister. So, the drama about the identity of “Lucifer” or “Brahma” goes missing. Then the arrival of the Chief Minister’s younger son is quite dramatic in "Lucifer". In the “Godfather”, the role is completely chopped off.

What “Godfather” gets right is it doesn’t spoil the spirit of the original. The first half is narrated in a gripping manner. Plus, additional sequences like adding a heroine to Chiranjeevi or songs are not incorporated. This is a major relief.

The political dialogues used by Chiranjeevi are in ok with the story, there is no forced additional political track. Puri Jagannadh’s journalist role and the sequences have also come out well.

Even after the interval, the film goes as per the story for a few sequences. But thereafter, it turned into a complete ‘Telugu commercial film’.

Satya Dev’s character lacks the evilness of Vivek Oberoi’s. In turn, Satya Dev looks like a meek person in front of Chiranjeevi, who is called the boss of the bosses. And We don’t get any high moments when Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan appear together. In the original, the same sequences filmed on Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumar provide goosebumps.

Having said that, “Godfather” is a better action drama compared to recent masala movies. When it sticks to the original, it works big time, when it deviates, it goes down. If we stop comparing it with the original, it looks interesting. However, Chiranjeevi’s charisma and his swag, and certain portions bring joy to his fans. For others, it is a strictly okay watch. It is difficult for the audience who watched 'Lucifer' to relish this film. But those who didn't watch the original may like it. This is the tailormade remake for Chiranjeevi.

Bottom line: For fans

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Godfather is the official remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer, starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj. The trailer of Godfather garnered a decent response. The starcast of Godfather is interesting with the very talented Nayanthara and Sathya Dev joining Chiru for this political action drama. Today, the movie was released in theaters. Here is the review.

What Is It About?

Chief Minister PK Ramadas’s (Sarvadaman Banerjee) sudden demise creates chaos in state politics. Home Minister Varma (Murli Sharma) and PKR’s son-in-law Jayadev (Sathyadev) plot on becoming the CM of the state in their ways. Brahma (Chiranjeevi) who was the right hand and great supporter of PKR stands against them both. Satya Priya (Nayanthara) hates Brahma for a reason. What is the rivalry between Sathya and Brahma? How Brahma saves the state and family from the wrong people? The answers to these questions are all about Godfather.

Performances

There is always something missing in Chiranjeevi’s roles since his comeback with Khaidi no 150. Now in Godfather, Chiru’s role appears complete and well arranged. Chiranjeevi gives a subtle performance and is precise for the role of Godfather. So far, we have seen Chiru dominating the show when he is onscreen, but with Godfather he keeps content and brings it up at the right moments.

Nayanthara performed well and is apt for the role. Her role is orderly and she did what is needed. She will be mostly passive in the first half, and her presence is better felt in the second half.

Sathyadev is a good choice for the role of Jayadev. Sathyadev is a performer and he gives his best as a baddie. The director’s choice to go for Sathyadev instead of a Bollywood villain is perfect.

Sunil, Shafi, Brahmaji, Murli Sharma and Anasuya were apt in their roles. Puri Jagannath appears in a crucial role as a gutsy investigative journalist. He is fine in his role.

Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan elevated the scenes to bigger levels with his presence. Salman’s role is brief and also not important. But Salman doing the role enthralls the masses, particularly when both of them were in one frame doing all the action parts.

Technicalities

Godfather is a political action drama. So writing is expected to be more thrilling with political and elevation punches. Godfather does not have many enticing dialogues. Most of the writing is from the original. Thaman’s background score is loud but it helped elevate many scenes. The cinematography is good. The screenplay is fine.

Chiranjeevi Sathya Dev & Nayanthara First Half

Thumbs Down

Poor Graphics Few Lengthy scenes

There were many doubts about why Chiranjeevi is keen on remaking the political action thriller Lucifer. But Godfather is an honest remake with some changes that did not spoil the essence of the original. The director Mohan Raja adapted the movie for the Telugu nativity and made it a bit more engaging.

The director kept the original plot intact with balanced elevations in regular intervals. There are a few twists that thrill the audience and there are some stretchy scenes as well. The first half engages with the smooth run and characters scheming against each other. Salman Khan’s appearance during the interval gives a high

We have seen the political ploy with MLAs shifting bases. Godfather also has similar episodes but the story slowly starts focusing on the confrontation between the protagonist and the antagonist in the second half. Some prison episodes and action sequences entertain the masses.

The latter part of the second half takes the route of routine mass drama with a kidnap rescue episode. The climax part is not any different from the usual fight sequence with lots of guns and bullets.

An item song followed by a rain of bullets, spilling blood, and fire in slow motion leaves us a feeling of action dominating the mature thrill that the movie so far carried. The fans might be missing Chiru getting into a muscle fight in the end, but Salman does that for him to keep the Godfather’s weightage.

Overall, Godfather is a neat remake with relevant changes. For those who already watched Lucifer, Godfather will be a decent remake, and for those who have not watched the original, this will be an entertaining watch.

Bottomline: Boss Is Back

Rating: 3/5

What’s it about?

When Chief Minister PKR dies, a question arises regarding the successor. PKR’s son-in-law Jaidev (Satya Dev) swiftly swings into action. His wife Satya Priya believes that her husband is doing everything for her and her family. She loathes her stepbrother Brahma (Chiranjeevi) and is determined that the party doesn’t go into his hands.

Brahma, on the other hand, has the support of many MLAs, who act on his word. Understanding that Jaidev is trying to grab the party in his hands, Brahma plans that his sister Satya Priya becomes the new party president. Then, Jaidev’s game to become the new Chief Minister becomes tough.

How Brahma exposes Jaidev’s true nature and averts his efforts and saves his sister from him becomes the main plot of this political drama.

An official remake of Malayalam blockbuster ‘Lucifer’, Chiranjeevi starrer ‘Godfather’ follows the spirit of the original but also differs from it. As director Mohan Raja said in his interviews, he has made many changes to the script, by omitting certain characters and adding new ones. The character of the Chief Minister’s younger son was removed entirely. Manju Warrier’s daughter role turns into Nayanthara’s sister here.

The original film is not just about succession but drug cartels. The aspect of the drugs has remained in the ‘Godfather’. But the political drama and the successor game are altered. Political drama is over masalafied in ‘Godfather’.

‘Godfather’ is largely gripping in the first half. The biggest trick Mohan Raja has scored with this film is that he doesn’t let us think about Chiranjeevi’s usual introduction song or romantic thread. Thankfully, the film sticks to the original in this aspect. For the first time in his long career, Chiranjeevi has done a movie without the usual dance numbers or romantic angles.

Mohan Raja succeeds in presenting a new megastar that befits his age.

If we start comparing the film in all aspects with the original, the review will be too long to read. In short, ‘Godfather’ follows the outline of ‘Lucifer’ but gets some portions rights, some things wrong. We don’t get many complaints with the first half, but the final act completely goes wrong.

The very decision of casting Salman Khan is bad. Even the scenes involving Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan lack the native factor and don’t provide any thrilling moments. The final moments give a feel of the rushed product.

Coming to performances, Chiranjeevi’s swag and style is the main highlight. He reinvents himself with this film.

Among the other characters, Nayanthara (dignified), Satya Dev (decent), and Murali Sharma (good) shine. Sunil, Brahmaji, Samuthirakani, Divi Vadthya, and Shafi are okay.

Among the technicians, cinematographer Nirav Shah and dialogue writer Lakshmi Bhupala deserve appreciation. Thaman’s music is standard. Director Mohan Raja does a neat job in remaking the original.

Bottom-line:  For all these years, Chiranjeevi has done films or roles that provided scope for his dance numbers or mass sequences. For a change, he reinvents himself with ‘Godfather’, which is bereft of such moments. This is a novelty. Though the film is not as good as the original ‘Lucifer’, it makes a decent watch on its own.

GodFather Review – Watchable Political Drama

GodFather Telugu Movie Review

OUR RATING 2.75/5

CENSOR 2h 37m, ‘U/A’ Certified.

Chiranjeevi-Godfather-Telugu-Movie-Review

How Brahma ( Chiranjeevi ) enters the situation and turns into a kingmaker changing the fortunes of various players Satya Priya (Nayanthara), Jaya Dev (Satya Dev) and Verma (Murali Sharma) is the movie’s basic plot. Who is Brahma, and where did he come from is an exciting subplot.

Performances Chiranjeevi continues his passive-aggressive form as an actor with Godfather. The subtlety and sincerity shine more than the intensity. The new look is alright. It settles fine after a bit of time taking initially. There is a visible effort to show restraint, but it doesn’t hamper the movie’s flow. It aids in taking the narrative forward smoothly. When the moment arrives to show the drama, Chiranjeevi is as effective as he has always been.

Godfather is also a rare movie where we don’t have the usual dances from Megastar Chiranjeevi. There is also no romantic interest, which makes it an interesting outing for the fans.

Nayanthara appears briefly in the movie’s first half. However, she has a good presence post-intermission. Irrespective of the length, her casting adds weight to the film’s appeal. Regarding performance, there are a couple of moments in the second half which show why she is one of the best in the business when it comes to emoting.

Satya Dev is a wonderful and perfect addition to the cast of Godfather. He plays the main antagonist in the movie, opposite Megastar Chiranjeevi. It is a big step up for the actor to feature in such a biggie, and he has grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Satya Dev has done well to stand his ground and also surprise at the key moments. The more significant thing to notice here is that if a regular villain had been cast in his place, the narrative would have become miserable to sit through.

Director-Mohan-Raja

First things first, changes have been made from the original Malayalam version to the Telugu remake. It is reflected from the start itself, where we have a quick hero introduction. However, the core points remain the same, and Godfather’s narrative builds on them.  The political setting movies are not new to Telugu cinema, but the presence of Megastar Chiranjeevi lends it a different flavour. The fact that one doesn’t miss a heroine or the song and dance routine featuring Chiranjeevi is a telling sign of the engaging backdrop and the narrative.

The confrontations between various characters and the drama surrounding them run the show in the first half. The fresh casting helps the cause and also holds the attention. One is engaged as the story keeps moving on.

We also notice during these same portions that there are no ‘big’ sweeping highs that are usually a staple in commercial Telugu cinema. The opportunities are aplenty, but the director chooses to keep things grounded, not go overboard.

Post intermission, which is alright, things resume after a brief detour. We see a glimpse of another star presence via Salman Khan . More about him later, but initially, he is fine.

Jayam Mohan Raja has made changes in the Telugu remake, which are visible via cutting down of characters. Some plot development is also redone differently. These changes are minor but eventually, get to the original’s roots.

Everything seems fine until we reach the final half an hour. The block is like an extended climax with only a single thread left, i.e. finishing off the villain. Here Salman Khan is reintroduced. His arrival derails the narrative as there is a serious change in tone. Suddenly, the proceedings turn into a b-grade masala fare with an item song and guns exploding. The visuals, too, lack the finesse with poor VFX to boot.

The whole thing leaves a wrong aftertaste kind of feeling after all the neat work done before. It also feels rushed, mainly if one looks at the big end reveal related to Brahma’s character.

Overall, Godfather is a drama-driven mass fare with Chiranjeevi and good primary casting involving Satya Dev and Nayanthara. They hold things together until the end, when the narrative collapses into mundaneness. It is a decent one-time watch and offers something to cheer for Mega fans after the star’s last debacle.

Nayanathara-Godfather-Telugu-Movie-Review

Technically the movie is slick. Nirav Shah cranking the camera gives classy visuals with mass intact. Marthand K Venkatesh’s editing is alright. The climax disappoints, though with poor visual effects. The writing is decent, but one can’t help but feel it could have been better.

‘Godfather’ movie review: An unabashed fanboy tribute that entertains in parts

The telugu remake of ‘lucifer’ that rides on the shoulders of chiranjeevi stars salman khan in a guest appearance. however, satyadev is the surprise package.

Updated - October 08, 2022 08:31 am IST

Sangeetha Devi Dundoo

Chiranjeevi in ‘Godfather’

The Telugu film Godfather , starring Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, Satyadev Kancharana and Salman Khan in a guest appearance, is director Mohan Raja’s eighth remake. The director is aware that the source material, Malayalam film Lucifer starring Mohanlal, was an unabashed fanboy tribute to the star by actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran. Mohan Raja takes the broad outline of Lucifer along with some of its key portions and does a fanboy tribute to Chiranjeevi. Godfather is shorter (157 minutes) than Lucifer (174 minutes) and also unapologetic about pandering to the lead actor’s fan base.

The State’s chief minister named PKR passes away and a battle for succession ensues. PKR’s daughter Satyapriya (Nayanthara) is not keen on being the political heir but her husband Jaidev (Satyadev Kancharana) eyes the chief minister’s post. Also nursing his ambitions for the chair is PKR’s former aide, minister Varma (Murali Sharma). The one who can foil all their plans is Brahma (Chiranjeevi), the kingmaker who is loathed by Satyapriya for reasons that go back to her childhood.

The broad storyline involves clashes between Brahma and Jaidev and the story brings in a handful of other characters whose loyalties are not what they seem to be. These characters played by Sunil, Shafi and Brahmaji keep the proceedings interesting. Other characters include Puri Jagannadh, an investigative journalist and Anasuya a television news editor, both trying to stay on the right side of the moral compass.

Cast: Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, Satyadev

Direction: mohan raja, music: s thaman.

To Mohan Raja’s credit, he knows the strength of the original story but is also aware that the superhit Malayalam film that has been widely viewed needs to be presented fresh, rather than a frame-to-frame reproduction. He does away with one of the key characters from the original film, played by Tovino Thomas. This gives the story more room for Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara and Satyadev.

The film rides on the shoulders of Chiranjeevi, who sports a salt and pepper look and is at ease in the portions where he needs to put forth a restrained portrayal as the powerful kingmaker. The dialogues by Lakshmi Bhupal are on cue without being verbose and help to heighten the drama. Take for instance the now popular lines by Chiranjeevi, ‘ nenu rajakeeyam nunchi dooramga unnanu, kaani rajakeeyam na nunchi dooram kaledu (I am staying far away from politics, but politics does not stay far from me).

However, the characterisation of Brahma does not hold much intrigue as the film progresses. Though there is a supposed mystery about him, the adaptation strips away all grey shades. The final scene involving Interpol officers is laughable. It is this lack of nuance that prevents the film from rising above a loud fan-pleasing vehicle.

Satyadev gets a character that is as devious as a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and the actor revels in it. In the scenes where he crosses paths with Chiranjeevi or the showdown with Nayanthara, the actor nearly walks away with the film. Murali Sharma is fun to watch as a scheming politician.

Nayanthara gets a meatier role than Manju Warrier in the original, and she is effective as the stoic daughter and adamant woman who takes time to see things for what they are. She has to convey her emotional turbulence in a restrained manner and she does it well.

The unintentionally funny portions involve Salman Khan in a guest appearance; the action portions featuring him with customized weapons never have the desired effect thanks to the poor visual effects. He is called Masoom Khan and gets to shake a leg with Chiranjeevi. Music composer Thaman amps it up in the background score and with the ’ Taar maar takkar maar’ song featuring the two actors, but the choreography felt underwhelming.

Godfather entertains in parts when the political intrigue leads to cat and mouse games. It had the potential to be a gripping political drama but ends up as one of those films that can be enjoyed only when you do not expect much from it.

Godfather , one of the most-awaited films of this festive season, hit the screens today — and in all likelihood we have a big box-office hit on our hands.

Starring megastar Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara and Satyadev in lead roles, the film is directed by Mohan Raja. Godfather is the Telugu remake of Malayalam movie Lucifer, starring Mohanlal.

Chiranjeevi’s last film, Acharya , ended as the disaster of the year. His fans desperately wanted him to bounce back, and he has done so with Godfather .

Story and plot

Let’s right away get into the story of the film: Chief Minister PKR passes away and the entire state is waiting to find out who the next chief minister will be.

Minister Varma (Murali Sharma) has eyes on the post, as also Jaidev (Satyadev), PKR’s son-in-law. But everyone knows that it is Brahma (Chiranjeevi) who has all the qualities to become the chief minister.

Godfather

Brahma is PKR’s son from his first marriage. And from his second marriage, he has two daughters: Satyapriya (Nayanthara) and Janhvi. Satya hates Brahma as she considers him the reason for the death of her mother.

Jaidev is a criminal and his marriage with Satya is a trap. He wants to become the chief minister so that he can continue his criminal saga. He was the one who killed PKR.

One day, Satya comes to know the criminal side of her husband and that he’s the murderer of her father. Now to save herself and her sister from Jaidev, will she approach Brahma so that he can save the party and state too?

Who will out the fact that Brahma has another persona called Abram Qureshi, and his close aid Masood Bhai (Salman Khan) has connections to the mafia?

The Chiranjeevi show

Godfather is loud and it is entertaining, as it is both a serious political thriller and has pucca commercial elements.

This film is not exactly a remake because, when compared to the original, quite a lot of changes have been made to the plot. In other words, this film is a fanboy tribute to Chiranjeevi from Mohan Raja and music director Thaman S.

With a salt-and-pepper look, dark-coloured kurtas, black goggles and an Ambassador car, Chiranjeevi is downright regal. It’s good to see him back in his mass avatar and it is an absolute delight to watch him on the screen.

Other actors

Nayanthara, as is now expected of her, has done a good job. Satyadev is at his best in this negatively-shaded role . This is the first time he played an antagonist and the entire first half is his.

Actor Satyadev

Samuthirakhani plays a cop and though he has less screen time, he has done a commendable job. Murali Sharma has, yet again, proved that he is a versatile actor.

The producers of the movie spent huge amount on casting, and the production quality.

Special credits to Thaman for amazing background music score. Perfect in every possible way,

Godfather is an absolute entertainer. There are smany elevation shots for Chiranjeevi and they are great too. Director of photography Nirav Shah has done a great job of visually portraying the film.

The long and short of it: Godfather is good, if you don’t compare it to Lucifer . Fans of Chiranjeevi will enjoy every bit the film.

God Father 2022 : What's Behind

Mega Star Chiranjeevi's Godfather is releasing Dasara to take full advantage of the festive season. Since the film is the remake of the Malayalam hit, Mohan Lal's Lucifer, the film is carrying low buzz. But the makers promoted the film as a completely different and novel one and the presence of Bollywood star Salman Khan is exciting all. The film's OTT rights have been bagged for a fancy sum by Netflix and the OTT streaming will be done after the completion of its theatrical run. Let us see whether Godfather set the screens on fire with the presence of Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan.

GodFather 2022 :Story Review

Godfather is all about the political bickerings following the demise of the Chief Minister of the state. The state is plunged into political turmoil with the demise of Chief Minister PKR. This leads to power struggles among the family members, party leaders, and also opposition parties. Who will emerge victor among CM's son-in-law Jaidev (Satyadev Kancharana), daughter Sathyapriya Jaidev (Nayanthara) and where this will lead to, and what is the connection of Brahma (Chiranjeevi) who wields significant clout as the Godfather and his relationship with Masoom Bhai (Salman Khan) form the crux of the story.

Artists, Technicians Review

The Godfather story of Mohan Raja stayed true to the original Malayalam version of Lucifer. He however made a few changes to elevate the heroism of Chiranjeevi and as the film also stars Salman Khan, few more changes have been made. Right from the start, the narration is gripping and Mohan Raja made it interesting with his screenplay and direction. He got the optimum from all the stars and the entry of Salman Khan increases the excitement. This sets the tone for the interesting second half.

Mohan Raja continued in the same vein in the second half and when everything is going smoothly, the pre-climax and climax turned out to be childish. Everything hit a downside and even the VFX turned the entire Salman Khan and Chiranjeevi action sequences into video games. Dialogues are power and made and impact. They are hard-hitting and to the point to the core.

Chiranjeevi sported a new salt and pepper look for his role as Godfather. As viewers are not used to watching him in this look, it takes time for them to get adjusted to his look. He performed in a cool and composed manner carrying the film on his shoulders. He showed the right kind of expressions and emotions and made an impact with his screen presence. Chiranjeevi this time did not do the regular mass role and he refrained himself indulging in romance, dancing to romantic songs, etc. It seems for the first time in his career, there is no heroine for Chiranjeevi.

Nayanthara made it count with her performance. She got only a few scenes in the first half but she made an impact with her screen presence in the second half. Her scenes with chiranjeevi took the film to next level. Satyadev showed his acting talent and shone even in the presence of big stars like Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, and Salman Khan. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's entry excites all. Though he elevated the scenes along with Chiranjeevi, all of them looked forced and impacted the film's flow. Brahmaji, Samuthirakhani,Anasuya, Murali Sharma and Sunil got good screen presence and did their roles well. Puri Jagannath appeared in the important role of a journalist.

Thaman got the golden opportunity to score music for Chiranjeevi for the first time in his career. But he failed to make the optimum use of it. None of the songs are attractive and appealing. Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan's song entertain masses but it came at the wrong time. He tried to compensate for it with his background music. His background music elevated the scenes but at times it turned loud. Nirav Shah's cinematography gave a rich feel to the film with grand visuals. Marthand K Venkatesh left a lot to be desired in the second half. The climax turned out to be the weak link of the film. Production values are good.

GodFather 2022 : Advantages

  • Chiranjeevi presence
  • Salman Khan's cameo
  • Nayanthara, Satyadev's performances

GodFather 2022 : Disadvantages

  • Scenes in the second half

GodFather 2022 :Rating Analysis

Remaking the blockbuster of other languages is always a tough task. Mohan Raja who took the responsibility of remaking Lucifer with Chiranjeevi as Godfather, for most of the part emerged successful in staying true to the original. Even the subtle changes made to the original version added value to the remake. Both Chiranjeevi and Mohan Raja should be complimented for not going over the board to include mass, commercial elements. Salman Khan's entry also was perfectly placed. But Mohan Raja's screenplay and direction went for a toss during the pre-climax and climax with the action blocks between Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan. The hurried and rushed climax undid all the good work. With better screenplay, and writing, Godfather would have become even more powerful. Altogether Godfather is an interesting political thriller. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 3 rating for Godfather.

The Godfather: All Movies Ranked

Nazarii Verbitskiy

4. The Godfather Part III

The first two films depicted Michael Corleone as a cold, calculating figure. However, in Godfather Part III, the focus shifts, portraying the gangster as a softened, older and wiser man. But, the film relies a little too heavily on references to earlier films. | © Paramount Pictures

The Godfather Coda

3. The Godfather, Coda: The Death Of Michael Corleone

The Godfather, Coda: The Death Of Michael Corleone is a reimagined version of Godfather Part III that offers a tighter conclusion to the Corleone saga. This version focuses on Corleone’s struggle for redemption as he seeks to leave behind his violent past and secure a legitimate future for his family. | © Paramount Pictures

The Godfather Part II

2. The Godfather Part II

The Godfather Part II stands as a noteworthy sequel that even surpasses the original Godfather movie in some moments. And a lot of that is thanks to Robert De Niro’s Oscar-winning portrayal of the young Vito, which is a masterclass in acting, bringing extraordinary depth to the character’s origins. | © Paramount Pictures

In Telugu Devara Part 1 Rating starring NTR Janhvi Kapoor Saif Ali Khan Devara Movie Review -
